Daniel Lopes is the founder of Beltway Bias. He started this blog as a way to showcase the unique teams, fandoms, and cultures that exist in and around the DMV. He received his undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America, and his graduate degree from Georgetown University where he studied Sports Industry Management.

He now lives outside of NYC with his wife and son, but his heart will always be in the District.

Lopes enjoys watching the Wizards, Capitals, and D.C. United, but his real passion is the Washington Nationals.

Sam Valentin grew up as a member of the Dugout Club and his Oriole fandom has only grown from there. Although he doesn’t live in Baltimore, he is a short distance away right in Lancaster County, PA.

He recently graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Sports Journalism.

His goal is to see an Orioles World Series.
